Depression is a mental health problem

Depression is a very common mental health problem afflicting older adults. It affects a significant percentage of older adults. Symptoms of mental health include poor sleep, reduced energy levels, and overt concern about health problems. It is a treatable disease and shouldn’t be equated with senility. Most adults remain undiagnosed and untreated for depression. They fail to identify the signs and symptoms of depression. Mental balance gets affected due to an imbalance of brain chemicals triggered by stress and strain. This happens due to certain biological, psychological and social factors. As mental health is difficult to recognize the disease tends to be under diagnosed.
