Herbs can be used for culinary purposes through out the year if it is dried and freeze up properly. If you can make it of your own, the preparation would be of higher quality than anything available in the market. Of course you can save some money from there as well.
If you are drying herbs with high moisture content then a good dehydrators would be of great help. It would also save your time and energy. Other wise air drying or rooms drying is the most inexpensive way to do that. Some times microwave oven is also used but the output is of poor quality as microwaves literally cook the herbs. For drying fruits like apple slices, grapes need 6 hours and larger juicy fruits require around 10 hours. Thus temperature and humidity both affect on drying procedure.
